What Causes A White Spot On The Penis After Non-penetrative Sex?

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Aug 2017
Question: Hi so about a week ago, me and my girlfriend were getting intimate. All we ever did was sexual intercourse and some dry humping. About 20 minutes later, I started to feel a little bit of pain on my penis, moments later a huge white sac was formed. I did a little bit of research and most likely its a friction blister, and so I gave it a couple days to heal. The pain has stopped and the blister has seem to get smaller and its color has changed. But I am still curious as to why the blister hasn't completely healed yet, currently it is still there. How long does it usually take for a blister like this to heal?

correction, it was actually about 2 weeks ago. Sorry for the mistake.

Brief Answer:
Are you circumcised?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what had happened. I have reviewed the attached image. I have a question as to whether you are circumcised or not. If not, is the foreskin able to pull over the entire glans?

This might be phimosis. Occurs when the foreskin is trapped and causes edema. If this causes pain and fails to resolve, then we may need to resort to surgery to relieve this.

First, let me hear from you to be able to make definitive recommendations and guidance...

Awaiting...

No I am not circumcised. I havent tried pulling the foreskin over the glans.
The first couple days it was painful, but now its not painful at all, I was considering draining it, but I felt like that would've been bad.

Compared to when I first saw it, it definetely got a little bit smaller. But the past couple days I have been awaiting for it to shrink entirely but I feel like it hasn't. Should I just keep continuing to wait? I ship off for the military next month on the 15th and really want to have intercourse with my girlfriend before I leave. Will this be possible given the situation Im in? And since it's not painful, would a urologist be even considered? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Yes, Get it evaluated by the Urologist!

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for the details,

The problem is that the blood and fluids flow has been obstructed. This is responsible for the edema(swelling).

Hopefully, it regresses but if not, you will need to have this surgically corrected. Having sex before deployment might be difficult at this time as we work on getting this resolved first.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
Regards

If I plan to see a urologist and have surgery to fix this problem, how big is the surgery. And hypothetically if i do plan for the surgery, will it be in time before my ship date on August 15?

Also on a another note, I did a brief research of Phimosis, and it said it can cause your penis to die and not ever work again. Is this true for my case?

Brief Answer:
Not true in your case!

Detailed Answer:
HI,

It can only cause the penis to die when the constriction is very tight and pain is huge. You are not there.

Surgery for this is done as an outpatient procedure. This can certainly happen before your leave for shipment.

I wish you well.

Hello there! So sorry for the number of questions I have been asking but, since right now the edema is there but not painful at all. What do you think would happen if I just left it there and get shipped off to the military for 6 months. Would there be anything I should be concerned about? Or do you think if I were to do that, the edema would slowly heal on its own. Thank You

Brief Answer:
Observe only!

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

In the absence of pain, you may continue to monitor. Should the pain returns or it fails to resolve fully, surgery should be considered. I will not mind that you allow this and go on shipment. Just maintain good hygiene and be vigilant for any signs of infection. It can be readily fixed anywhere around the world if need be.

Thanks

Ok thank you. I've done a little bit of research on my own and it says that drinking a lot of water and applying ice to the area should help reduce the edema. Also I was curious if this really was phimosis. I looked at pictures of phimosis and usually the penis looks normal and that the foreskin just cant go back to normal. About 2 months ago my foreskin was retracted but it only took a couple days for it go to back to normal. I hope that in my current situation right now, the foreskin cant go back because of the edema that I hope was a cause to friction burn and that it wont allow the skin to go back to normal.

Hello Doctor, it may turn out that the situation I am in is paraphimosis, should I consult to a urologist, will circumcision be necessary, or can they just pull my foreskin back and/or drain the fluid. Since you said my penis cant die because I feel no pain. I read an article and I am quite terrified because it mentioned that the paraphimosis can stop blood flow to the penis which causes it to not function well if not ever function again.

If you need any other pictures, please let me know as the paraphimosis seems to be only on one side instead of around the whole penis.

Brief Answer:
Phimosis/paraphimosis all fall in the same category!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Paraphimosis: inability to return the foreskin.
Phimosis: Inability to retract the foreskin.

In your case, there is no immediate emergency. However, getting a medical consultation is not to e discouraged. While such conditions can damage the penis, damage will never occur without pain as pain is the first sign to signal tissue damage anywhere.

IN all, see a doctor at your earliest convenience. No emergency at this time.

I wish you well!
