Brief Answer:
Reducing the doses of drug should help in pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Clozapine is a second generation antipsychotic drug. The drug is commonly used when most of other drugs fail to result in improvement. The incidence of back pain due to Clozapine is not very common but some individuals taking it suffer from chronic burning lower back pain. Some inflammatory processes are involved in pain. The pain usually improves on discontinuing the medicine so if the pain is severe and intolerable then you can discuss with your doctor to prescribed some other antipsychotic drug. If that is not possible then doses can be divided and can be lowered if possible. Reducing the dose should help. There are many case reports which suggest that such lower back pain reduce with reduction of doses. Get your blood counts done regularly while on this drug. Clozapine is known to reduce the white blood cell counts.

Hope this helps you. Thanks and Take care
