What Causes Black And Bloody Stools?
Question: Hi, I've been experiencing excessive heartburn(feels like a stroke) and pain in my stomach, which keeps me up all night. I have also experienced nausea, vomitting (including blood), dizziness, black & bloody stool, etc. I've been trying to keep up with a good diet and have quit smoking as a result. The doctor put me on Tecta 40mg but it does not help with the pain, Im guessing it takes a couple of weeks?
I went to the local drugstore and purchased Zantac 150 mg.. is it possible to take both at the same time (Tecta once in the morning and Zantac twice a day after 12 hours)???

Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Black and bloody stool is something that should not be left alone. This usually indicates bleeding from peptic ulcer. Such bleeding can be life threatening. That is why you should have gastroscopy done as soon as possible. Waiting for specialist visit is not a good idea. It is also necessary to rule out stomach cancer which can give similar symptoms.
Please do not take Zantac and Tecta together. It is not a good idea.
I suggest you to have gastroscopy done as soon as possible and do not wait for specialist visit.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions,
Regards.
