What Causes Bleeding After A Bowel Movement After Removing Cervical Polyp?

Question: I am pregnant and had a cervical polyp removed 2 days ago. I had no bleeding immediately after but had bright red blood on the toilet paper this am after a bowel movement. Could this be from the removal or is it likely to be unrelated?
Brief Answer:
Bleeding is most likely from cervix as a result of polypectomy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
How many weeks pregnant are you? The bright red bleeding is most likely from the cervix as a result of polypectomy.
Do you have constipation? If so then there is a small possibility that it is from anus.
If you continue to have this bleeding please consult your doctor for examination.
I hope this helps.
If you have further queries, I will be happy to answer.

Thank you.
I'm 16 weeks pregnant. I am slightly constipated, but the bleeding was definitely vaginal rather than anal. I have had no more bright red bleeding, but have now been having some mucous-like brown discharge.

Brief Answer:
The bleeding is from cervix.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
If you are sure it is from vagina then it is from cervix.
The mucous like brown discharge suggests old blood. Some blood which remained in the vagina is being expelled as brown discharge. Dont worry about it.
If you have fresh red bleeding again please consult your doctor to make sure that it is from cervix and nothing else ( since you have no other complaints, in all probability it has to be from cervix).
I hope this helps.
If you have further concerns do write to me.
