Hi ...I have been told i have a cervical polyp and my doctor has referred me for a scan do you know why i have to have a scan and why she didnt just remove it there and then...also do you know what the scan will reveal and when the polyp is removed how and when i will get o know if it is cancerous..many thanks dawn...
I think a scan is necessary to know the nature of polyp and accordingly the management has to be done, if it's a simple polyp then simple polypectomy is required, otherwise a hysterectomy may also be required.
