Question: Hi,

I have been having discomfort and blockage around the throat area. In addition, my stomach always feel bloated even without food. I think I might have reflux. Please advise are these symptoms related to reflux?

What is the cause of reflux? Does scope help? Can I self treat and take over-the-counter medication like Graviscon?

Thanks!

Brief Answer:
GERD and dyspepsia

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

You are having symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease and dyspepsia.
You can take OTC Prilosec once daily before breakfast for 4 weeks for relief.
Check your blood glucose level.

Endoscopy would be needed if you are anemic, have difficulty in swallowing or painful swallowing, loss of appetite, loss of weight or if you are passing black stools.

I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
