What Causes Blood In Urine?

Question: In the last year 3 times I have had blood in my urine. I had a cystoscopy and it showed no issues with my bladder. However I periodically have soreness for no apparent reason in my abdomen. I now have a feeling of hitting a nerve like getting a catheter inserted when urinating but no apparent uti. More like a nerve hit, runs through my body and stops. not burning. After the cystoscopy I had the abdominal soreness for two days. I did have a cystoseal, rectoseal, urethra sling and complete hysterectomy (and ovarian cancer) twelve years ago. Could this be a prolapsed bladder or something?
Brief Answer:
Atrophic urethritis might be present.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I think it could be atrophic urethritis / cystitis.
After menopause, the local tissues get atrophic, leading to fragility and soreness.
This affects the bladder epithelium too, it might not always show up on a cystoscopy.
Topical HRT ( hormone replacement therapy ) might mitigate the problem to some extent.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
