Posted on Mon, 18 May 2015
Question: hello I'm a 51 years of age male vision up close is blurry I have been trying to improve by doing various eye excersises, so just about 20 minutes ago I needed to see something up close in a not so lit room I grabbed my wife's reading glasses and about 5 minutes into looking through them I thought the one lens fell out of the frame but it was my vision, it had become very disoriented almost like my eyes went crossed and blured so I sat down and closed my eyes and it slowly got better I was really scared what do think it could have been, I'm in better than average shape eat well and excersize daily, thanks.

Brief Answer:
We need to rule out transient ischemic attack.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I reviewed your history.
Since you are aged 51 years now, the near vision will be blurry because of age induced presbyopia and this can be corrected by the use of near addition glasses.

The symptoms of sudden blurring of vision with crossing of eyes indicate transient ischemic attack.
The common causes for this hypotension, hypoglycemia, hypovolemia and vascular problems.

Hence I would suggest for evaluation by your general physician to look for any of the above mentioned causes and treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
