What Causes Brutal Migraine With Pressure And Pain In The Left Eye?
Read below.
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I am sorry about the condition you are in.
In order to give a more informed opinion though there are some points I would like to clear such as:
- whether this is the first such episode or you've had others in the past,
- how long has this headache episode been going on,
- manner of onset (very sudden or reaching maximal intensity in minutes/hours),
- any other signs such as eye redness, tearing, nasal congestion, fever, double vision, decreased vision acuity etc
- have you tried any pain killer at all apart from the acupuncture
- any treatment for other conditions, oral contraceptives etc
Judging from only the present information one possible diagnosis would be left frontal sinusitis, inflammation of the sinus cavities in your forehead. More likely if there is also nasal congestion.
Other possibilities would include a viral infection like influenza which does manifest with such general malaise, muscle pain and headache.
For the moment, in the absence of other additional signs, I would recommend simply an over the counter anti-inflammatory pain killer like Ibuprofen and continue taking fluids, if nasal congestion also a topical decongestant like phenylephrine.
I remain at your disposal for other questions.
