It appears like a hair follicle infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani.
From what you have written it appears to be a hair follicle infection. If there is still some pus coming apply topical antibiotic cream like Mupirocin twice daily. If there is pain use Non steroidal antiinflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen 400 mg twice daily. If there is pain warm compresses also help.
Don't wear tight undergarments. keep the area dry. Even after all the pus is gone, the bump takes about 2-3 weeks to vanish. The skin on the top feels soft either because there is still some pus or it is the new skin which has formed.
I advise you to take multivitamins daily and to have healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables daily to improve your immunity. This helps in the healing process.
I hope this helps. If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
