default
Posted on Mon, 19 Jan 2015
Question: This has been going on for a while. I experience burning sensation on my hands ,feet, back and face. My wife says she can see the redness on my face and arms but no where else. And as the day goes by I can not lean back on anything because my back is so tender to the touch and about every third day my eyes burn. I have been to my GP doctor and Dermatolagies (sp) and they have given me creams but nothing seems to work. Getting really depressed but have hope

Brief Answer:
Large fiber neuropathy?

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I understand your query and concern.

As per your symptoms you most probably most likely to have peripheral neuropathy predominantly large fiber type.

This can present as burning sensation of the distal extremities.
Few large fiber involvement symptoms spinal tenderness particularly at the end of the day.

This issue can be confirmed by a spinal MRI and nerve conduction study.

This can accurately assess the further treatment aspect as well.

Meanwhile your symptoms can be largely resolved with the help of Inj Vit B12 500 mcg once daily for 3 months.

Definitive treatment can involve the use of steroids.

Please note all the above drugs should be taken only under strict medical supervision.

Thank you.
