Brief Answer:
Possibly silent acid reflux.
Detailed Answer:
While I can't say with absolute certainty without knowing more about your medical history, medications and diet, I can say that the most likely cause is from silent acid reflux. This can cause burning of the tongue and mouth.
Consider taking Zantac (ranitidine) 150 mg twice a day for 2 weeks and see if this helps.
Also, consider decreasing things that can increase the likelihood of acid reflux such as alcohol, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, citrus and tomatoes. Coffee can also contribute to it.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
