What Causes Calf Muscle Pain When Diagnosed With Strep Infection?

Question: My son was diagnosed with Strep on Monday, now Wednesday, he has pain in his calves all day. Seems like it gets better as he moves, but then returns. He no longer has a fever and he has had growing pains before, but this seems different. He's in a happy mood, not feeling bad otherwise. Could it be two different things or more likely it is related?

This pain in legs persists for two to three days and it settles as the condition of child improves.
