What Causes Constipation Associated With Losing Weight?

My wife is losing weight continuously since about 6 months, she is very sensitive to food and medication and she is very constipated (she uses enema every 3-4 days, but lately even enema doesn't work). She had X-Ray and CAT-Scan and blood tests, but nothing showed up 'alarming', including cancer.
Unfortunately she couldn't have a stool test (for any bacteria that might reside in her colon) because of constipation.
Question: if you were in her shoes, what would you do?
Colonoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for your query.
Constipation associated with losing weight often is related to a loss of fluids, reduced intake or poor dietary choices. Fortunately, in most cases, most people find relief by making a few lifestyle changes.
Drinking six to eight glasses of water along with adding fiber to the diet and increasing the quantity of fruits and vegetables that are eaten can prevent constipation.
In addition, avoiding liquids like coffee, cola and alcohol, which can dehydrate, can also be beneficial.Since your wife is also losing weight i would suggest u do a colonoscopy test and stool for occult blood test to rule out colorectal cancer.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
Regards
