What Causes Delay In Periods Post I Pill Intake?

Question: I had my periods on 25th aug.. and dn on 29th i had unprotected sex. On 30th i took i pill..within 24 hrs.. after 2-3 days i had sm bleeding for a day... i didn get periods on 25th sept.. i did pregnancy test at home twice and it was negative.. now its 4th oct. I am very tensed.. wot should i do? I even feel sm pain in lower abdomen And legs.. even i m getting some thick white discharge since 20 days.. Plz help... I am worried is dis pregnancy or some other major problem? Plz help

I understand your concern..

I pill contains high dose of the normal hormone, progesterone.. So it causes some alteration in menstrual cycle which will last for a month.The common menstrual symptoms are delayed periods and intermenstrual spotting..

In your case, you already had intermenstrual spotting for 2 days after 30th sep. This could be a delayed period. I pill reduces the chance of pregnancy by 89%. Get pregnancy test repeated. If negative, you can wait for a week And still if you dont get your periods , you can take progesterone tablet for 5 days to get withdrawal bleeding. Consult your doctor for the prescription.

Repeated use of I pill is not recomended. Take an alternative contraceptive measure..

Mam i had intermenstrual bleeding for just 1 day after taking pill.. and as it has already been 10 days up so do i need to wait for another 1 wk after taking test today? And i want to know which progesterone tablet should i have after that? Can there be some other problem also because of this.. plz help..

You can get a pregnancy test today and take progesterone tablet which is available in various trade names like meprate, duphaston, susten etc. Consult your doctor for a prescription. There is no much harm in taking just one course of these pills.

Heylo mam..
I want to tell dat my test again came negative. Bt i have nt got my periods yet.. and i m nt even able to open my eyes.. body is so lethargic.. i am nt getng wot to do.. can this be pregnancy? My stomach is bulgng out a bit.. and my face and handa also get numb at times. Plz suggest what to do.. is this all because of i pill?

I pill is high dose of progesterone which can cause such symptoms in some people.. If you still have a doubt of pregnancy , get a hcg blood test. Value greater than 25 suggest positive pregnancy..

If negative take progesterone tablet for 5 days.. You neednot worry..
