What Causes Delay In Periods?

Not pregnant; period delay is pill effect.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
You had the first intercourse during the safe period. Thus conception is impossible. If you got the serum beta-hCG test done at least a week after the second intercourse, then this incident also did not cause any pregnancy.
Deviry is a progestogen and can be used to induce a period. You can expect withdrawal bleeding 3-7 days after completion of the course.
You can also upload your sonogram report. I can give a better opinion on it after going through the report. As of now, I can only say the length of the cervix is within normal limits.
You did not mention if you had any period after the withdrawal bleeding you saw on the 10th of February.
Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

With pregnancy excluded, hormone disruption is the cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Usually, when an emergency pill is used, there can be a delay in the next natural period by a week or two. So, I advise my patients to get help if they are overdue by ten days.
Since you did not see any period after the withdrawal bleeding, it is likely that you have had hormonal disruption due to the pill. In that case, a check up should have taken place around 10th of March. If you had the blood pregnancy test at least one week after the second intercourse, then you need not worry.
In the current scenario, you may not get a period so long as you are using the progesterone. A trans-vaginal sonogram can give clarification about the status of the pelvic organs.
Hope your query has been answered. Please get back if you need more help. I will be glad to do so.

Hello,
Thanks for writing again.
Since you have taken two pills in two months, there would be an erratic hormonal milieu as the pills contain excess progestogen. This is the most likely reason for the delayed periods. You can go for another sonogram and blood pregnancy test, if you do not see any withdrawal bleeding with Deviry.
You can upload your reports in this portal. Please contact customer care for details.
Hope this helps. Please contact if you need any more help.
Wish you good health.
