Question: I am 40 years old.My period is two weeks late. 3 urine tests including Docter test came back negative. Blood test negative. I have protected sex w/condom. Recently had breast biopsy 2weeks before expected period and am training for marathon. Wondering why my period has not come. Usually very regular.
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry at this time.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I would be happy to help you...
The reason for the delayed period is a delay or absence in ovulation.
This is very common, and can occur in the setting of stress (excessive exercise and breast biopsy).
It also occurs commonly as women get older. So, you are obviously not pregnant, and you can either wait for a period OR you could talk to your doctor about taking a short course of progesterone to "induce" a period.
I hope that this helps.
Regards
