What Causes Diarrhea, Frequent Bowel Movement, Gas, Stomach And Intestinal Cramps?
My two questions are:
1) If this is C. Difficil, will the symptoms go away on their own as my stomach acidity returns to normal or should I see my Doctor to get a prescription antibiotic?
2) If it isn't C. Difficil, what other diagnoses seem appropriate?
chances of clostridium infection are unlikely
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir Greetings,
I have gone through your question I understand your concern
Nexium 24 can produce diarrhea and abdominal cramps as a side effects, however in your case it has developed 2 days after the starting off the nexium and didn't stop even after discontinuation
In my opinion chances of clostridium difficile are very unlikely but can't be ruled out; this could be a Gastroenteritis or colitis, please make a visit to GP for stool test you may require a course of antibiotics preferably metronidazole group of antibiotics
Continue with probiotics and plenty of fluids including ORS
I hope I have answered your question please feel free to write us for further clarification I will be happy to answer you
wishing you good health
