![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: My *left ear feels extremely cold and uncomfortable sometimes - this happens most often when I am doing strenuous excercise - the feeling is inside abs outside. Sometimes my right ear also feels this way but most often it is the left ear. There's a mild and tolerable pain on and in the ear also.
Brief Answer:
Most probably due to blood vessels gets constricted during exercise
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
I have gone through your question and it suggests that most probably pain in your ear may be due to the blood vessels constricted during exercise.
For your kind information when you exercise or run for a long distance, the blood vessels get constricted. It is a prominent reason for pain in ear while running. The condition is aggravated when you run in cold climate or on a high altitude.
In this condition I would like to suggest that avoid exercise in the cold climate and or high altitude if you have.
I would also suggest that consult with ENT specialist for otoscopic examination.

This isnt a very thorough or elaborate answer from a specialist.
1. This pain doesnt happen in cold climates only and it doesnt happen only when i run. It happens even in hot climates (dubai) when i walk for about 20 mins or more. And it was not always happening so why are my vessels constricting now?
2. This answer also doesnt tell me **why my blood vessels are constricting?? Why dont others experience the same pain?
3. How can i make it stop?

Brief Answer:
Exact cause should be rule out
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
I have gone through your follow up question; and for your knowledge 1. it is the rare condition as described by you blood vessels constriction may be due to some underlying cause therefore it should be rule out.
2. For your kind knowledge there are so many reasons of the blood vessels constrictions are Scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and atherosclerosis.
3. Management depends upon the underlying cause.
I would also like to suggest that you may consult the ENT specialist for the local examination of the ear, otoscopic examination, impedance audiometry and oral examination to rule out the other possible cause of the earache.
