What Causes Dizziness And Lightheadedness After Consuming Beer In Hot Weather?

Question: This past Saturday in XXXXXXX VA the temperature reached about 100 degrees. I went to pull some crabs. In anticipation of my chronic back issues I took two vicodin to prevent pain. While on the water I drank one bottle of water and two beers. During the course of three hours of pulling crabs I became dizzy and lightheaded. I jumped in the water to cool off...twice. When I got back to the pier I had to lie down because I was dizzy. When I got home after 5 minutes I passed out, fell and busted my head. The paramedics came and my blood pressure was 80 over 50. Do you think my condition was from the heat or the beer and medication or both?

Brief Answer:
Heat was most likely reason
Detailed Answer:
Dear Wood,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
First of all regarding dizzy experience I feel it was most likely low blood pressure. Now regarding low blood pressure although it is difficult to point toward single factor it was most likely heat and exertion which resulted in dehydration and low blood pressure. Although I must acknowledge that since alcohol acts as diuretic it resulted in more urinary output coupled with increased sweating due to heat.
I do not feel Vicodin can cause decreases in blood pressure to this level.
I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
I think yes
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.
As you might be knowing every specialist doctor gets training as general practitioner before specialization in any branch of medicine including psychiatry.
In other words initial training is same no matter you are cardiologist, internist or psychiatrist and that makes me eligible to answer any query.
I hope this clarifies.
Thanks again.
