What Causes Early Period Despite Trying To Conceive?
need some more details.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
I would like to know some more details so that I can guide you better:
1. Do you get regular menses earlier? Is there an history of irregularity of menses?
2. Are you taking any kind of drugs?
Anyhow, with the details what you have provided, there could be two common possibilities:
1. Normal menses: you have started having your periods earlier than normal time.
2. Implantation bleeding: This may be an early sign of pregnancy for approximately 30% of all women who conceive. The fertilized egg, while being implanted into uterus, may damage some of the mother's blood vessels in the uterus, resulting in a small amount of blood leaking from the cervix and down the vagina.
This type of bleeding during pregnancy usually occurs 6 to 12 days after conception--close to the time when the next menstrual cycle is expected.
Do you have other symptoms of pregnancy like feeling nauseous, sore breasts, dizziness, change in bathroom habits etc?
I would suggest you to go for urine pregnancy tests to sure about pregnancy.
Kindly revert back with the reply to above queries in the follow-up.
Thanks.
Dr. Nidhi Setia.
Implantation bleed is almost similar to normal menses.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow-up query.
You have regular periods and not taking any drugs except folvite.
I would like to tell you that implantation bleeding is almost similar to normal menses, but two can be differentiated usually as follows:
1. Implantation bleeding is often darker than 'period' blood because it takes time for the blood to travel from the uterine wall through the vagina.
2. The amount of bleeding is relatively light and usually last a couple of days.
For some women, the flow will resemble a very light period, which is why confusion between the 2 occasionally occurs.
3.The menstrual blood is more of a red color and will become heavier within a day or two.
On average, a pregnancy test will be positive about the time you expect your menstrual period (up to 4 days before the expected period).
(In your case, you were expecting the next period on 7th feb. You can test pregnancy by urine pregnancy test by around 3rd feb).
Continue with you folvite.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.
Yes, pregnancy test may be positive.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
Thanks for the follow-up query.
Implantation bleeding is usually lighter and sometimes can be dark as well. This is not very reliable. The more important things to note are the quantity and duration of bleeding.
Its usually slight to medium. Duration is limited to a few hours, 1-2 days in exceptional cases. Implantation bleeding cannot last for 5 or 7 days, it`s abnormal.
Although implantation symptoms don’t belong to reliable early pregnancy signs, they may indicate, that conception is possible, so you should do testing. This will ensure the presence or absence of pregnancy.
Do keep a regular follow-up with your gynecologist.
Hope this helps.
