What Causes Elevated Blood Sugar Levels During Pregnancy?

Question: My wife is in 9th month pregnancy & her & baby's health is good in all scans till date. but her glucose level is in border line sometimes & normal sometimes. so I have check in diagnostic centers both are different values. one says normal at Fasting 97 & post 132..other says fasting103 & post 154mg/dL. some Dr says its ok few ladies will get in pregnancy & will be fine post pregnancy.can I know will baby affected from this glucose levels? will mother continue with diabetic post pregnancy?

Yes,if your sugar levels are high than it may affect your fetus.

Same time it is true that sugar levels may increase during pregnancy and may get normal after delivery or you can be diabetic after pregnancy.

So it is better you should consult your treating doctor and regulate your sugar levels and maintain it through medicines.

FBS should be less than 100 and PPBS is less than 200 is considered normal.
