What Causes Elevated Eosinophil Count While On Hetrazan?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I am taking Hetrazan 100 mg three times a day now
Dry cough, skin itching during evenings started in Sept 16. Went to local MD (Med) doctor in Sept 16 who prescribed Hetrazan 300mg once for 14 days as Eosinophil count were 765. No issues till XXXXXXX 17 then suddenly dry cough started entire day and same doctor prescribed Hetrazan 100 mg thrice for 21 days and Prednisolone 4 mg once a day for 5 days, In XXXXXXX 17 during medications, eosinophil count was 464
Stopping Hetrazan after 21 days, again mouth ulcers, itching with no visible rashes and not in particular time, Dry cough during entire day observing
Kindly let me know next course of action

I have gone through your query.
Hetrazen is used for parasitic Infection,which might lead to high eosinophil count.You have taken already two courses of Hetrazen.
Another cause for your symptoms might be Allergy.
You can do Allergic testing to find out which substances you are Allergic to(like certain food items,dust,grass pollens,etc),so that you can take precautions to avoid those Allergic substances.
You may find relief by taking the following medication:
Levocetrizine with Montelukast(it is an Anti-Allergic),
Cough Suppressant like Dextromethorphan,
Antacid like Rantac(if you are suffering from Acidity),
Multivitamin,especially containing Vitamin B complex.
Also avoid cold and oily food.Avoid dust.Do steam inhalation.Drink lots of warm fluids.

What is dosage you advice for above medicines like Levocetrizine with Montelukast(it is an Anti-Allergic) suggested earlier,
In addition to this, My Mummy is allergic, do you think its hereditary
Any other major diseases I should worry like leukemia :-(

Looking at your symptoms,it does not think that you should worry about the possibility of Leukemia. If you are suffering from Leukemia then you might be suffering from other symptoms like Fatigue, weight loss, loss of energy, decreased exercise tolerance,Low-grade fever ,Elevated white blood cell (WBC) count, Splenomegaly(Enlargement of Spleen),Hepatomegaly(Enlargement of Liver),etc.
The dose of Montelukast with Levocetrizine would be Montelukast 10 mg with Levocetrizine 5 mg.
Your mother might also be suffering from Allergy as there is 30 percent chance of a kid having Allergy if one of the parent is suffering from Allergy.
