Should I Be Concerned As I Got My Menstrual Cycle So Early?
I started my menstrual cycle early, I think as a result of taking Methylprednisolone 21 tablet pack (which I finished off yesterday). I am on birth control, only half way through my month of pills, and have never had this happen. Should I be concerned?
Since, methylprednisolone is a hormone, which can also affect the other body hormones, including female genital hormones, thus causing the irregular menstrual cycle. However, this effect is generally seen with prolonged use of methylprednisolone and usually not seen with a short course of methylprednisolone.
Still, it is to be known, that birth control pills, themselves may cause some times unwanted irregularity in periods like, irregular bleeding, vaginal spotting, light or heavy bleeding as well as shortened or bigger cycle. However, fortunately, most of the times these effects are self limiting & do not require any specific treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
