What Causes Elevated Estrogen Levels?

Question: I am 73 years old. I have been diagnosed with high estrogen levels. What could the cause of this be?
Brief Answer:
Are you on any medications? What prompted the test?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.
I have reviewed this information fully. The most feared cause is that there is a cancerous tissue somewhere producing estrogens. This would only be considered if estrogens is not part of your medications, diet or supplements. If in someway you are taking this as supplement, that might be the reason. If you are not, we will investigate to see if there are any possible explanations to this.
Also, kindly share with me what prompted this test to be requested. This will help in my reflections towards providing much needed guidance.
I wish you well and hope to hear from you!

I have been having problems with exhaustion (for a long time) and also perspirering
(sweating) and hot flashes 24/7. We have ruled out an iron deficency and done lots of blood tests, all have come back in the normal range, though my glucose levels are close to the diabetes range. I took estrogen many years ago but stopped probably 15 years ago. I have no reason to believe that my diet, which has not changed recently, would contain estrogen. My LH test result is 25.2d and FSH test result is 16.6. To my knowledge they have been normal in the past.
Thank you.
