Posted on Fri, 4 Dec 2015
Question: I am 77 years old and have the usual urinary issues (frequent urination, difficulty emptying bladder, etc and ED. I tried Cialis for daily use (5 mg) for thirty days) with very little improvement and I tried 20 mg Cialis one time for ED with no improvement. Are the prostate and ED issues related and do you have a recommendation?

Brief Answer:
Prostate and ED could be related but still get full evaluation done.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Frequent Urination, difficulty in empty bladder are very much suggestive of Prostrate enlargement. You need to get a Ultrasound Pelvis scan done to check the level of prostate enlargement as further course of treatment depends on the size of prostrate.

Now coming to Ed, there are many causes of it . Prostatic Enlargement also cause ED but I recommend gettting evaluation done for other causes like Diabetes, Nerve Weakness , Varicose veins, Hormonal Imbalanace etc. Instead of just taking Cialis or any other ED medicines ask your doctor to evaluate for the cause of ED.

Also learn Kegel's exercise for men and do it daily.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.
