Question: I wake up every night in hot sweats, I am saturated as is my bed. What can I do to stop it?

Sweating during sleep may be normal and could be due to stuffy and warm surroundings. But it could also be due to medical conditions like hot flushes due to hormone deprivation in post menopausal women. If associated with weight loss, evaluation of lymphomas or other forms of cancers need to be done. Chronic infections like tuberculosis or certain other bacterial infections also need to be excluded. In short, assessment of the underlying condition needs to be done. Treatment will depend upon the underlying cause. I would suggest you to visit a doctor and get yourself thoroughly checked. You need to know the cause to be able to stop it.
