What Causes Facial Swelling And Rashes On Forehead After An Endoscopy?
Question: Hi, I am 32, had an Endoscopy yesterday, following which my face is swollen, I have few rashes on my forehead, and blood clots in the eyes. The doctor said it is because of the wretching during the procedure, and the exertion caused to the blood vessels. The swelling has gone down a bit, how long would it take for the redness to go down.
Brief answer....explained below

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Your doctor is absolutely right in the explanation given to you.It is all due to exertion only,
If you have just some redness in your eyes, then it would be over in next few days but if you find that there are some blood clots visible in the white portion of your eye, then it may take 2-3 weeks to go away completely.
It would be better if you could upload a photograph of your eyes so that I am in a better position to give you exact reply.
I hope it helps.
Best of luck

Hello,
I have seen the photographs. This is called as subconjuctival haemorrhage and occurs due to exertion on coughing etc. This is due to bursting of small capillaries beneath your conjunctiva.
There is nothing to worry regarding this.
Nothing in particular has to be done regarding this.
The extravasated blood would be gradually absorbed by the system but would take around 3 weeks to go away completely.
Thanks
