
What Causes False Positive Result For Penicillin While On Doxycycline?

Question: I have taking amoxicillan all of my life , especially since I have a heart murmur before I see a dentist. usually dose of 500 mg per pill. about a few weeks ago I saw that my physical to allergen test via blood and it shows I have a level 1 allergy to penicillin. I am shocked , and wanted to know could these results be false as I always take amoxicillan and have no reaction. I am afraid if I have to take antibiotics to take it now... however I did have a very bad reaction to doxycyline
