Question: I'm a 62 yr old female building a tree house for my adoped boys. I fell 12 ft out of the tree landed on hard pan head first. I went unconscious. when I woke up I jumped up saying I was fine. when I felt my cracked rib and a knot the size of my fist on my head I decided I' d better tell eveyone I was going grocery shopping and instead I went to the clinic.they sent me by ambulance to the hospital and the the hospital sent me to a big trauma hospital by helicopter. they thought they were going to have to drill a hole in my head but the subdural hemorrhage resolved itself.. I spent 4 days in hopitatal and since I'v been home I've spent 2 days in er due. to fever, high bp severe room spinning and of coursehead pain. I understand the pain but why the fever and high bp?

Brief Answer:
Possibly some infection/Please undergo a physical examination.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

It is likely an infection in your body which is causing fever. The cause of concern is that CNS(nervous system) infection should be ruled out at the earliest because it has a grave prognosis,if not detected and treated early.Further,Whether hematoma resolved fully or the clotted blood is getting infectious-it needs to be documented and ruled out.Otherwise, there can be other causes of fever as well like viral fever, urine infection or some other blood infection.

Bottomline,CNS infection must be ruled out.Urgent physical examination is required.
