various small dimensions. I believe them to be a small form of gout. Two years ago while in bed I
experienced a pain in my right big toe. This same experience has happened since then but very infrequently.
I have been diagnosed with arthritis in the lumbar region of my spine, because of the discomfort my
Doctor, at that time, prescribed the use of Naprosyn , which I still use as over the counter ALLEVE.
On a recent visit to a Bone&Joint with very little communication. He diagnosed duypuytrends contractue
I disagreed with him, I have no symptoms even closely resembling that. He left the exam room with
ruffled feathers.
Possible Tophi.Add Probenecid.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I understand your concern.
These nodules could probably relate to Gout as initially thought by you.
Dupuytren's contracture is largely unusual.
These nodules could be termed as "tophi".
Along with Naproxen ,I advise you to take Tab Probenecid 250 mg one tab twice a day for 4 months under expert medical supervision.
Probenecid is very important when tophi arise.
Tophi need surgical intervention only in following situations.I advise you to develop knowledge on this for early diagnosis and treatment.
(1) when tophi are unsightly:
(2) when tophi are painful;
(3) when tophi interfere with underlying tendon,joint or bone function;
(4) when tophi threaten to cause skin ulceration;
I hope these situations are not applicable in your case at the moment.
Hence a watchful procedure should be currently adopted in your case at the moment.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
