What Causes Gas In Stomach And Sweating During Defecation?

In the early morning I am awaken with gas in my stomach and sweating with a warm feeling as it appears food is entering the sigmoid area of by bowels. There is no pain or major discomfort at this time. It seems to clear after about 30 minutes and later I have a normal bowel movement. I have my gall bladder removed a year and a half ago, also had recent blood work and CT scan showing nothing abnormal as of last week, had hemmoroids banded about 5 months ago and I did suffer from mild diverticulitis before my gallbladder surgery. This flare seems to occur between 4 to 6 am on time each morning. Want to get your opinion on this problem given that things seem to be normal otherwise. Thanks.
It could due to forcible peristalsis of the Colon.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If the stool is hard, bowel tries to push it forcibly. This might be causing the symptoms that you have mentioned. This is one of the reason for formation of Diverticula in the colon.
CT Scan abdomen can diagnose a Abscess in the abdomen or rupture of diverticula. Colonoscopy is better to visualise the colon. But,it has to be done very carefully by a XXXXXXX Gastroenterologist as the scope may injure the Colon causing perforation and peritonitis.
Please take high fiber diet, drink plenty of liquids, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Your stool should be soft.
Pre and Probiotic capsule along with Prokinetic agent like Itopride has helped few patients of mine with similar complaints.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult your doctor, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.

CT Abd/Pelvis W/Contrast 09/14
The gallbladder is surgically absent. There are several small foci of hypodensity within the liver, the largest measuring of the order of approximately 6 to 7mm. These may represent cysts but some are too small to accurately characterize.
The spleen, pancreas, and adrenal glands are unremarkable.
Minimal perinephric stranding is seen bilaterally, extrarenal, and likely a normal varient. No suggestion of obstruction. Numerous colonic diverticula are seen diffusely. No definite focal inflammatory changes. Moderate amount of stool seen. There is no bowel dilatation or thickening. No free fluid or fluid collections.
Pelvic CT: No free fluid or fluid collections. Diverticula of the distal descending colon are seen. No definite sigmoid diverticula are identified. No obvious inflamatory changes. No bowel wall thickening or dilatation. The appendix is unremarkable. The prostate is somewhat prominent in size, measuring approximately 5 X 3.5 X 4cm.
You should take diet which softens the stool.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You should take diet which softens the stool and passes distally.
CT Scan is old one and has no significance now. Except for Colonic diverticula, rest everything is normal. In my opinion your problem seems to be related to diverticula of colon. Discuss with your doctor if you need a new CT scan.
Wish you good health.

You need a stool softener.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It's better to use a stool softener until symptoms subside. I prefer Polyethylene glycol softener (PEG) to my patients.
I am sorry I misinterpreted the date to september 2014. I realize it was few days ago and that is a relevant one. We need not repeat the scan again.
Wish you good health.
