What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding After A Cervical Biopsy?
Question: I had a cervical biopsy on Thursday was menstruating at the time. Left office with a maxi pad and put a tamon in the next day . Started bleeding VERY heavily 2-3 tampns an hr so went back to pads on Monday night and the bleeding is much lighter but not considered heavy . Is this normal?
Brief Answer:
nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi, yes it can happen in some patients, not very common but a known complication of cervical biopsy because cervix has a very rich blood supply.
If it has gone lighter then nothing to worry now.
Just wait for the report of biopsy.
All the best.
