What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?

Question: I am 50 and had sex for the first time in 8 years yesterday but I started bleeding quite heavy a couple of hours later - I am really worried now .will make a drs apt on Monday but that's ages away - I cant stop worrying.
I haven't stopped my periods yet and am using cerazette tablets
This is only the second man I have ever slept with
Please help x

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about bleeding after sex.

Following is my reply:

1) Bleeding you are describing is probably due to the trauma caused by rough sex.

2) This is more since you have not had sex for a while. This also happens when you have sex while vagina is dry.

3) I suggest you dont worry. Just wash vagina with warm water and you will be fine.

4) This bleeding will not be more heavy than what you had. It will reduce slowly as the wound heals.

5) You can wait till doctor's appointment on monday.
