Had blood work done and I have slightly high levels of calcium in my blood. Read online that this could be a symptom of cancer, so I am quite concerned. However read that this occurs mostly in advanced cancer patients and I have no other symptoms of cancer. What could be the cause?

Brief Answer:
Mild hypercalcemia is generally not a serious issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to Healthcaremagic,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern,

Mildly increased calcium(hypercalcemia) in blood is generally due to dehydration, medicine intake etc.
Mild hypercalcemia is generally not a serious issue.

You are right that hypercalcemia may be due to cancer.Since you don't have any symptoms like pain abdomen, respiratory problem etc, cancerous cause is unlikely.

You may need repeat test after three months.
If it is still increased then you may need few more investigations and clinical examination.

Get well soon.

Hope I have answered your query.
Further queries are most welcome.

Thank you for the quick response to my question. I have one more issue that may or may not be contected to this. I have been experiencing a numbness and cold feeling in my legs (mostly the lower legs and feet). It kind of feels like my legs are falling asleep. I started feeling this sensation all of the sudden about a week ago while I was standing up and it's been pretty constant since then, increasing in the evenings before I go to bed. Feels somewhat better when I am moving around versus when I am sittin. g
