What Causes Hot Flashes And Excessive Sweating While Suffering From Cold?

I have been suffering from a baf cold for a week. Tonight I wad out with a friend when I suddenly felt really hot and my face / forehead was sweating. I had to leave my meal and come home. I also felt like I would vomit but I didn't. I went to bed and slept for a few hours and now feel better. What could it have been ?
Possible drops in blood pressure/sugar levels...
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear XXXX,
I am sorry for the episode you had that inturrepted your dinner with your friend.
Let me recapitalize your case:
- 55 years old female
- a personal history of bad cold for 1 week
- going out with friend for dinner
- feeling hot/sweating on face/forehead and feeling like vomit
- getting better after sleep
Going through a bad cold has caused your body to get weaker. Even a small activity like going out has caused drops in blood pressure or blood sugar levels.
Furthermore, as you are 55 years old (age of menopause), having hot flashes with sweating can be common occurrence.
However, if I was your caring doctor would advise to:
- check your blood sugar levels
- monitor your blood pressure
Can go to your local drug store and get it checked there, and record the results. If abnormal, should schedule an appointment with your doctor for further assessment.
- have your meals regularly, do not skip them
- increase fluids intake and keep well hydrated.
Hope this answers to your question. Let me know if you need further clarifications.
All the best!
