What Causes Increased SGPT Level When Diagnosed With Fatty Liver Disease?

I am 37 year old male, BMI=22, height 1.74 wt=65 kg. Recently i am diagnosed with "Grade I fatty Liver disease" (through USG). I never drink alcohol.
My triglyceride=212 (HDL=40, LDL=68, VLDL=42.4, total =151) My SGPT is 134.
Fasting sugar=84, PP sugar=124, BP =130/80,
All these was discovered during a routing exam without suffering any obvious illness.
As far as i know i never abused/self medicated any prescription medicine.
--Is my liver already damaged? if this condition can be reversed.
What should i do now. What treatment, life-style modification is needed.
Minimal damage
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Your SGPT is mildly elevated taking your lab reference range in to consideration ( less than two times the upper limit of your lab range of 22-72).
Though the most common cause of deranged liver function is nonalcoholic liver disease, there are other causes as well like hepatitis causing viral infections, metabolic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease and drug toxicity.
i would advise you to repeat the liver function test in another standard lab. If the repeat test also shows abnormal liver function, then tests for the above causes may be done. If these tests are inconclusive, then the raised SGPT can be attributed to the fatty liver.
Your BMI and blood glucose are within normal limits.
Your TGL is out of range which might be contributing to the fatty liver.
You can discuss with your doctor about taking medications for raised TGL.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

Could you please tell if this condition (fatty liver) cureable? If not, is it possible to prevent it from going bad to worsewhat. What should be my line of treatement.
Fatty liver is reversible
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Yes Fatty liver is reversible if the risk factors are eliminated.
Raised TGL is the risk factor you have which has to be treated.
Take trimethyl glycine supplements to protect your liver.

Dr.R.K

As per your advice i undergone LFT from a NABL accredated lab. There i found that sgpt=101, sgot=47, albumin=4.7 and globulin=3.8. I have attached the detailed report. Do it pointing towards some bad news for me? What should i need to do?
One thing i would like to mention I had my ankle fractured last December. It got oked. But i have found that if i take very long walk or stand for long time some times there is slight pain or feel of discomfort. I dont know if there is any connection.
Need more tests
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The test done in the other lab also shows raised liver enzymes.
As suggested earlier tests for other causes like viral infections, metabolic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease should be done.
If these are inconclusive, then the probable cause is fatty liver disease.
Take trimethyl glycine supplements and treat raised TGL.
There is no connection between the fractured ankle and the liver issue.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
