Hi and thanks for your query.

I would not get panicky on single blood pressure reading. Please take two more readings on separate days. Then only we can think that it is isolated diastolic hypertension.

If it comes to be raised consistently on different occasions it can be labelled as hypertension and tests need to be done to find the cause.

It is commonly related to weight gain/obesity. More commonly it is just that the korotkoff sounds disappear sooner and the actual diastolic pressure is lower.
During development of hypertension in younger individuals, prehypertension progresses to isolated diastolic hypertension first (due to increased peripheral resistance), which may later progress to raised systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
