Hello,

Hair loss, also called alopecia can affect any part of the body, including the legs. In this case, it is called anterolateral leg alopecia. The reasons associated with loss of hair on lower leg and calf region can be due to specific diseases like certain skin disease, lack of circulation (peripheral artery disease), or in some instances, or imbalance of hormones.

Anterolateral leg alopecia can be associated in some cases with other condition like hypertension, dyslipidemia metabolic syndrome but I want to underline that hair loss in the lower leg is not a sign of heart diseases. I suggest to consult your husband's local physician to check for a root cause for root cause and solution for his anterolateral leg alopecia.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
