What Causes Increased Body Temperature After Stoppage Of Birth Control Pills?

Question: since stopping my birth control over one month ago, my body temp has increased. i usually had a temp of 97.0 and now i am around 97.9-98.2. i feel hot since this has happened throughout the day. is this a hormonal imbalance?
Brief Answer:
its normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
tHE BODY TEMPERATURE changes during the cycle and especially during the fertile period when ovulation occurs and increases by 0,5 degree celsius. So it is a natural phenomenon and cannot be attributed to stoppage of birth control per se. These are natural hormonal ups and down during the cycle .
You may increase your water intake and hydration leading to ability to cope in a better manner.
Regards

my body temp is constantly around 97.9-98.2 now. before I stopped the pills, I was lower.. I feel hot daily now since I got off the pills. not only around my period. Also, I missed last months period. I never got it. can this be related to my thyroid ? if this is hormonal, how long till I feel better? I am also very nauseous on and off, and I get headaches, and cannot sleep at all. I have turned into an insomniac. when my gyno tested my levels, she said both my estrogen and progesterone are low.. I also get so nauseous that I cannot even eat, and my hair has thinned out on top around my head and I have major acne, which I never had before. it is kind of scaring me. I am waiting on my endo blood work to come back. I also am very anxious and jittery, which I have never been before. i just don't feel like myself! help.
Brief Answer:
possible premature ovarian failure
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
if your both estrogen and progesterone levels are low, then there is a concern which needs to be evaluated for premature ovarian failure. It is important to get day 2 FSH and LH values which if found to be high would indicate a premature menopause. I would suggest you to wait for the work up to arrive and then we can discuss the options.

Would low levels of estrogen and progesterone cause hot feeling or can this affect my thyroid? The gyno said she would retest me in a month but in the meantime I went to have full work up with endo. Let me know about the insomnia and the hot feeling please thanks
Brief Answer:
answered.
Detailed Answer:
thyroid is not affected by oestrogen and progesterone and neither vice versa. Decreased oestrogen produces a menopausal like state which can cause hot flushes , so it is likely that hot feeling is attributed to decreased estrogen.
I still feel end workup is necessary before any relation can be made between insomnia or hot feeling.
