Yes the area is warm to touch compared to rest of leg and does appear swollen..the centre feels almost like a hard lump. Am trying to upload photo for you to see. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Irritant dermatitis with secondary bacterial superinfection
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I have reviewed the Image. This is most likely an Irritant reaction due to bite. This looks infected to me.
The centre part shows necrosis due to intense inflammation and then there is surrounding deeper erythema followed by a larger portion of faint erythema due to spreading inflammation and probably secondary bacterial infection.
The area is warm and swollen and I can see some oozing at the centre which also suggests that there could be secondary bacterial infection due to scratching.
I would also suggest an Oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once Or twice daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
In addition I would suggest a course of an Oral antibiotic for a week. My choice of an Oral antibiotic would be either Amoxicillin Or Cephalexin for a week.
Topically you may use an antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily.
Regards
