What Do Red Spots On The Penis Indicate?
Question: Hi Doctor,
I am observing tiny red spots on my penis. I don't feel any pain or any sensation. I am married, and I don't have any other sexual partner or never had one. I didn't have sex for a while and I noticed a red spot on the penis head today.
I am not sure if it is something which I need to be concerned about. I am attaching the pictures here, the best shot I could take.
Could you please take a look?

Brief Answer:
Possibly it is a yeast infection. Kindly upload an image
Detailed Answer:
hello. thank you for writing to us.
I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Perhaps it is just a Yeast / Candida infection -
candida balanitis - however I would like to have a look at it. Unfortunately I have not received any image. I request you to kindly upload it again in "Reports Section"

You replied so fast while I was uploading the pic. It doesn't have any pain or any head or anything, its a slight redness. I am not sure if it is friction with the underwear or something else. I noticed it while I was washing while shower.
Brief Answer:
Frictional dermatitis or irritant dermatitis.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you. I have viewed the image.
It doesn't look like a yeast infection. Perhaps it is just a frictional dermatitis or irritant dermatitis to soap. I suggest you to use a topical steroid+ antibiotic combination ointment e.g Flutibact ointment, twice daily for a week and then follow up. Avoid soap. Use just plain lukewarm water to clean the area.

Brief Answer:
Topical steroid cream - Cortisone or Cortaid cream
Detailed Answer:
hi.
No. Flutibact (fluticasone propionate 0.05% + mupirocin 2% oint) is a prescription product.
You may use a mild topical steroid e.g cortisone cream or cortaid cream (hydrocortisone 1% cream), twice daily. It is available over the counter (OTC).
