What Causes Lower Back Ache While Waking Up?
Question: Hi I have back ache mainly in lower back through out the day even when i wake up in the morning or after noon sleep. It agrevivates in the days of menstural cycle(During that whole back pains). i received the following prescription from the doctor..
Hello
You are welcome and it’s good to see you.
After going through the whole discussion I think you need regular exercises to strengthen your back muscles along with balanced diet rich in calcium (milk and milk products), proteins and vitamin (especially vitamin D).
My prescription would be – 1.Get blood test done for vitamin D and B12.
2. Cap.uprise D3 60K once a week for 3 months
3. Tab. citromacalvit once daily for 1 month
4. Tab.Thiospas 8mg twice daily for 4-5 days then whenever you have backache.
I am done with the test and attached the report with my profile. The D3 is less than required. Should we continue with the above prescription or some change is required? (Calcium report is due for tomorrow)

Brief Answer:
It is OK
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,
After going through your query I concluded that your prescription is OK. I want to add to it that vitaminD3(Cap.uprise D3 60K) should be taken with a glass of milk for its better absorption. I Will also like to add analgesic such as ibuprofen after meals for pain relief. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Citromacalvit is not vitamin B12
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back
After going through your query and follow up query I want to say that as your B 12 is normal, you need not to take supplements of vitamin B12. But citromacalvit is nothing to do with report of B 12. Citromacalvit is tablet of cacium citrate and calcitriol . So you need to take it. Also vitamin D3 injections are available. These are given when a person can't take vitamin D3 by mouth or he has problems in absorption of vitamin D3. There are no side effects of vitamin D3 (like increasing body fat content).
However it can cause toxicity if its level are very high. You are unlikely to achieve that level in 3 months. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query.
