What Causes Lump On Right Side Of Neck?
Infected Lymph node or a lipoma
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I am really sorry to know your loss, I can understand the plight you are going through.
Read the whole history you have provided and the picture you have posted.
There are tow most probable diangoses.
1. Lipoma, you your have a history of lipoma on your body
2. Lymph node, there are so many reasons to have lymph node enlargement, infection being the most common cause. And this is the most common site where you get enlargement due to infection.
I know how difficult it is to undergo the tests just now.
I would suggest you the following, if you feel it appropriate at the moment.
-To get examined by an ENT or a General Surgeon, as palpation by a Surgeon can differentiate clinically. If infection is thought about, you can always take a course of 1 to 3 weeks of an antibiotic and see the results. It may regress or even vanish if it is infected lymph node.
-High resolution Ultrasonography and guided FNAC can give an accurate diagnosis.
-Biopsy is required only if all the measures fail.
Since you have tenderness (pain on pressure) and the site is posterior triangle of the neck , this looks more possibly an infected lymph node and not a Lymphoma.
I hope I have tried to answer your query and this helps you. Please feel free to ask for more if you need to or if you feel there is a gap-of-communication.
Should i go for another opinion like fnac but iam scared of it...
Do not be scared, get the doubts cleared please.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX believe me, this does not look like a Lymphoma. Lymphoma do not pain on pressure.
Get it examined by a Surgeon, not the Physician and ultrasound, FNAC will help to get the doubts clear so that the anxiety goes away.
Do not be scared. This is simple procedure. Since you are in XXXXXXX you can visit the Pathologist (Histopathologist) and get FNAC done.
Sorry for asking the questions repeatedly....
