What Causes Lymph Node Swelling Under The Chin And Profuse Sweating?
As a background of my medical history. I have had allergies to dust and polen since my teenage years. I am 52. Nine years ago my lip was swollen for between 3-6 months. We thought it was food allergies. Prednisone helped but the swelling came back after the short course. It eventually went away and I have been able to eat anything since.
I had my appendix removed 8 years ago. There were multiple non caseating granulomas in it but I do not have Chrohns or diarrhea symptoms.
I have had plantar fasciitis on and off since my forties.
I do not have a fever, night sweats, or insomnia. Sadly, I have not lost weight but in fact have gained about 40 pounds in the last decade.

Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Swollen submental lymph node with no associated history of weight loss, night sweats, make it very benign . As you already have history of allergies from dust and pollen and that makes it more likely to be the cause and nothing to worry aout. Your doctor is right just observing them is enough and if painful take some advil or tylenol for the pain. Meanwhile focus on prevention of allergies by avoiding the triggers. If its upper respiratory infection and you have history of fever then it could be bacterial cause otherwise allergic airways is a very common sequelae and treatment is mostly supportive.
Apart from that you appendix history is not correlated here, plantar fasciitis needs supportive care with pain killers and physiotherapy.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Supportive care
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me
Lymph nodes swell as inflammatory response and infections are not always needed to be bacterial. It could be even benign cold, flu, congested sinuses or inflammation of any kind secondary to allergies that can cause these swollen lymph nodes , thats why i said these are always benign and nothing to worry about. Supportive care is enough just like your doctor said.
A swollen node for 4 years is too much though and your doctor must have examined it as well, if it has not increased in size then its benign too and can be observed in next few months for size etc and if it increases can be taken out and studied for histopathology but i am sure it wont come to that.
I hope it helps.
