What Causes Mouth Ulcer And Sore Spot In Throat While On Duromine?
duromine could be a possible cause or aggravating factor
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
The ulcer you described can be attributed to the duromine use as adverse reactions can occur to any drug especially to drugs like duromine which have more than a few contents. These are most likely aphthous ulcers. You should stop the duromine temporarily to see for improvement. Apply Bonjela gel which contains a keratolytic and choline salicylate with cetalkonium chloride. Use a good mouth wash such as NIFLAM or PROTECT or any mouthwash containing chlorhexidine 0.2 %. Listerine Gargles should also be done. The sore spot in the throat should be examined to look for associated tonsillitis or any ulceration of mucosa by your doctor. If evidence of tonsillitis or pharyngitis presents then antibiotics can be started after throat swab and culture samples are taken, in consultation with your doctor. Try to avoid citrus fruits, hot and spicy foods till the ulcer heals. Most likely the ulcers will heal with this supportive treatment.
