What Causes Nasal Congestion, Abdominal Pain And Watery Eyes While On Augmentin?
Question: Hello my symptoms are:
Sinus pain
Thick yellow brown mucus cough up some or blow out
TMJ
Awful since of ear pressure and fullness muffled hearing like under water
Sinus pressure
Post nasal drip
Constant drip into chest/ stomach
Bad stomach pain and cramps watery stool thinking due to antibiotics
Stuffy nose and head
Watery and itchy eyes
Very fatigued and tired
Left eye spasm pressure more than right side
Cough
Allergic to codine and sulfa drugs
Lasted 3 and a half weeks
Temperature changes make symptoms worse
Took Augmentin 875 for 5-6 days had to stop due to very bad stomach issues went off a day ago
Have tried Musinex, sudafed, Allegra, nasacort, ginger oil and oregano oil drops, etc. prednisone I did several days but side effects aren't worth it with stomach and tmj aggravated and facial flushing and no sleep
So sinus infection/pain/issues/congestion
Tmj
Stomach issues and main three symptoms
Very frustrating it's been 3 and a half weeks
What do you recommend I take or don't take to catch a break and get me on road to healing? I have seasonal allergies and it all started with virus I guess 3 and a half weeks ago with sore throat that lasted about three weeks. My son had some of the same symptoms but he is better and seems to be feeling good unlike me who remains frustrated and fatigued.

Brief Answer:
Since your Phlegm is thick, you still harbor an infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM,
Sometimes these things happen. Since your Phlegm is thick, you still harbor an infection.
You have two options.
One--take a milder antibiotic that does not cause stomach irritation, with a double dose of acidity protection, along with a cough preparation that contains Bromhexine and Guaphenesin. Also take Allegra.
And do steam inhalation with vicks and use saline nasal drops.
Two--avoid the antibiotic and take the rest----give it time.
You can revert back to me. Regards

Thank you. You said I should take the Allegra but should I take the plain regular one or one with D in it? Also today I have had more pain behind the eyes with spasm feeling in the left one. Is that something to worry about or normal with sinus infection and not a big deal? Thanks again for your help
Brief Answer:
take plain Allegra. The pain is due to sinusitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi, take plain Allegra.
The pain is due to sinusitis and regular inhalation twice a day should help you by de-choking and causing accumulated phlegm to flow out.
Hope to see you better soon.
