What Causes Nausea And Early Satiety When Diagnosed With Prostatitis?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Dec 2016
Question: Within the past 4 weeks I have had 2 bouts of what the doctor thought was uti .. went through 2 seven days cycles of Cipro ... with about a week in and half in between ... on the last day of the 2nd cipro cycle I started feeling nauseous .. its been like that for just under 2 weeks.
Went to urologist .. diagnosed me with prostatitis ... went back to my regular doctor last Tuesday with concern of the nausea and feeling full after small amounts of food. He did exam and found that I may be constipated ... I use to go 3 times a day .. during the 2 cycles of cipro .. I would barely go once and it was forced.
He gave me ducolax 2 times daily ... since last tuesday .. I have had a few movements .. since but not as much I anticipate.
My fear is stomach cancer .. I can not get it out of my head.
Current conditions are pain in upper stomach .. pulsating lower left and right stomach ... still feeling full when I eat small amounts.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
You seem to have evloped drug induced Gastritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

The symptoms that you have are mostly due to what is called as drug induced gastritis secondary to use of Ciprofloxacin for 2-3 weeks .

The Ciprofloxacin is known to have side effects of constipation .

There is no possibility of you having cancer of the stomach as feared by you .However you can get it confirmed by doing upper GI endoscopy (Gastroscopy ) This will help to allay your anxiety and confirm the diagnosis of Gastritis .

Following regime will help to resolve the issue
1)Take H2 receptor antagonist like Pantaprozole twice daily .
2)Have a small frequent meals(4)rather than two full meals
3)Avoid spicy and junk foods
4)Take sumptuous quantity of milk and curd .
5) Take adequate quantity of roughage in diet like sprouted cereals and leafy vegetables .
6) Take stool softener like Naturolax at bed time instead of Dulcolx .

This should work for you .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
