What Causes Neck Pain Below Right Ear?
Question: This moring my son complained regarding his neck pain, just below ear right ear. He isn't able to move his head. He is 5 years old. Please suggest what medicine and care to be taken.

Hi.... Thank you for consulting in Health Care Magic. It could be torticollis. Usually it happens in sleep during abnormal posture due to muscular spasm. It us a self limiting condition. I have few questions for you -

Hi...Thank you for your trust in me.
The best way to treat and get immediate relief in this condition of muscular spasm is using mild muscle relaxants but they are not recommended in this age group. I suggest -
1. Syrup Ibuprofen (100mg/5ml) 7.5ml thrice a day for 3 days
2. Cold compressing at the site of pain
3. Do not try to flex r move in the opposite direction by force.
4. If the pain is not subsiding in 24 hours or if it is increasing or if there is any weakness of the arms or leg, I suggest you take him to your paediatrician immediately.
Otherwise this will settle by itself.
I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol. So do not use Combiflam which is a combination of paracetamol.
