Question: Hi what is the cause of numbess in the fingers and what can be done to ease the discomfort ? My email address is XXXXXXX My husband plays an accordian and finds it difficult to play somtimes.
Brief Answer:
Probably cervical spine disease.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Two most probable causes of fingers numbness are: 1.degenative cervical disc or vertebral disease.
2. peripheral neuropathy from nerve compression or from metabolic causes.
I suggest that your husband consults a Neurologist and discuss possibility of nerve conduction testing (ENMG), that is a fast and simple diagnostic tool. Further examination tests or treatment depends on ENMG results. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
